Community Invited to Penn Highlands State College Open House
Centre County has a new hospital opening in summer 2024 — Penn Highlands State College — and the community is invited to tour the hospital and adjacent medical office building during an Open House on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
“We are excited to show the community our new state-of-the-art hospital and medical office building that will provide innovative, patient-centric and
compassionate care,” said Rhonda Halstead, the Regional Market President for the Central Region for Penn Highlands Healthcare. “We constructed Penn Highlands State College around the specific needs of the Centre County region. From the minute they walk through the door, patients and visitors will notice that the hospital and medical office building were designed for their comfort and privacy.”
The new Penn Highlands State College will include:
- An Emergency Department with 10 private treatment rooms and a trauma room for prompt assessment and expert care
- A state-of-the-art Surgical Department with three high-tech operating suites and an Endoscopy Procedure Room
- 18 modern and private inpatient rooms
- A Medical Imaging Department that utilizes the latest technology for the sharpest images
The Penn Highlands State College Medical Office Building will offer:

- Cutting-edge technology with a personalized approach
- Nationally respected oncologists
- Multidisciplinary care including advanced medical oncology/infusion services

Visitors to the Open House can take self-guided tours; enjoy fun family games and activities as well as refreshments. Local mascots will also be on site to interact with guests. In addition to door prizes and giveaways, free State College Spikes tickets will be available while supplies last.
