Welcome New Physicians - June 2024

Penn Highlands Healthcare offers 849 physicians who provide a wide range of care and treatments at our eight hospitals and locations throughout 26 counties in Pennsylvania that include community medical buildings, outpatient facilities, surgery centers and physician practices. We are pleased to welcome the following physicians who recently joined our medical staff.

Clarence Lin, MD
Connellsville, Rostraver Township

Board-certified surgeon Clarence Lin, MD, joins the teams at Penn Highlands Oncologic and General Surgery at 401 East Murphy Avenue, 2nd floor, in Connellsville and 800 Plaza Drive, Suite 140, in Rostraver Township.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Lin utilizes the latest technology and techniques to significantly reduce downtime in recovery, minimize post-operative pain and help patients return to work sooner and without the need for narcotic pain medication.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Lin practiced at United Hospital Center, Western Virginia University Medicine, in Bridgeport, W.Va.; St. Clair Hospital, St. Clair Medical Group, in Pittsburgh; and Brown Physicians, Inc., University Surgical Associates, Inc., in Providence, R.I.

Dr. Lin is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine in New York, N.Y. He completed his residency in general surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Medicine, in New Haven, Conn. He completed a fellowship in general surgery at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, R.I.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.

Steven Park, MD
DuBois

Otorhinolaryngologist Steven Y. Park, MD, joins the team at Penn Highlands ENT, located at 145 Hospital Avenue, Suite 206, in DuBois.

As an otorhinolaryngologist, Dr. Park treats conditions of the ear, nose and throat, as well as issues related to the head and neck. With more than two decades of experience, he provides excellent care to patients in the DuBois region.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Park practiced as an Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y.

Dr. Park is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, N.Y. He completed his surgical internship and residency in otolaryngology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, in Bronx, N.Y.

He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and he is a diplomate of American Board of Otolaryngology (Sleep), American Board of Otolaryngology and National Board of Medical Examiners.

Donald Schneider, MD
Clearfield

Board-certified gastroenterologist Donald Scott Schneider, MD, joins the team at Penn Highlands Gastroenterology, located at 807 Turnpike Avenue, Suite 220, in Clearfield.

Dr. Schneider is fellowship-trained and provides comprehensive gastroenterology care. He has more than three decades of experience and has served in prominent positions, including endoscopy medical director.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Schneider practiced at Geisinger Health System in State College; Brunswick Gastroenterology Associates in Brunswick, Maine; Geisinger Medical Center in Danville; Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene, NH; and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, N.Y.

Dr. Schneider is a graduate of SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, N.Y. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, N.Y. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology with advanced endoscopic year at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Alexis Smith, DO
Brookville, Clearfield, DuBois, St. Marys, Huntingdon, Tyrone

Breast radiologist Alexis Smith, DO, joins the radiology department at Penn Highlands Brookville, located at 100 Hospital Road in Brookville; Penn Highlands Clearfield, located at 809 Turnpike Avenue in Clearfield; Penn Highlands DuBois, located at 123 Hospital Avenue, second floor, in DuBois; Penn Highlands Elk, located at 763 Johnsonburg Road in St. Marys; Penn Highlands Huntingdon, located at 1225 Warm Springs Avenue in Huntingdon; and Penn Highlands Tyrone, located at 187 Hospital Drive in Tyrone.

Dr. Smith has 15 years of experience and her fellowship was in women’s imaging, and she has published a variety of research on the diagnosis of cancer in women. She is deeply committed to women’s health and providing compassionate care to women of all ages.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Smith practiced at Steuben Radiology Associates, Trinity Health System, in Steubenville, Ohio and Ohio Imaging Associates/Columbus Radiology, Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her internship at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. She completed her fellowship in women’s imaging at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
