CNB Foundation Makes Lead Gift to Penn Highlands DuBois Annual Appeal
The 2014 Annual Appeal for Penn Highlands DuBois was launched in mid-November, announced Diane Blasdell, Development Director, and a lead gift from the CNB Foundation was recently received toward that effort.
The yearly campaign is Penn Highlands DuBois’ largest community-directed project to raise funds in support of patient care at the hospital. Individuals, businesses, and Penn Highlands physicians and employees are invited to participate.
Donations to the General Fund are used for the hospital’s greatest need. In addition, over thirty restricted funds exist to allow donors to direct their contribution to the purpose closest to their hearts. Funds include the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, The Heart Center, and many others.
All contributions are used for patient care at Penn Highlands DuBois, allowing the purchase of equipment and other patient needs that could otherwise not be provided. In addition to providing for excellent patient care, the appeal offers donors an opportunity to make a tax-deductible charitable contribution before the end of the year.
Karin Pfingstler, Vice President of Commercial Banking for CNB Bank, presented a donation of $2,500 to the Annual Appeal, directed to the Alan R. Fairman Memorial Cancer Fund. “The bank is committed to helping and participating in the communities in which they operate,” said Pfingstler. “I had the privilege of knowing Alan and feel he was one of those people who continually gave back to the community in which he lived. That matches the philosophy of CNB Bank.”
Joyce Fairman, Alan’s surviving spouse, acknowledged the donation by saying, “Our children, Derek and Lisa, and I are so touched by the generosity and thoughtfulness of the CNB Foundation. Thank you so much for supporting Hahne and the patients there who are struggling with cancer and its far reaching effects.”
“On behalf of all of our patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, Penn Highlands DuBois, its medical staff and administration, I want to extend our gratitude for this generous donation,” stated John Sutika, President of Penn Highlands DuBois.
Laura Adams, director of the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, said, “Please be ensured that this contribution will assist the members of our community, our neighbors, and loved ones in many ways while facing the battle with cancer. We are fortunate to have oncology services across our Penn Highlands Healthcare organization. Most of all, we are blessed to have such tremendous support from the community.”
